The safety measures which March Dental has implemented since our reopening go beyond the current safety guidelines outlined by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Chief Medical Officer of Health and Ontario Public Health.
These include:
- Staff trained for updated COVID protocols
- Continued highest standards of infection control
- High efficiency air purifiers using Hepa-Rx Filters which filter and sterilize the air have been purchased
- Temperature measurements for staff and patients to ensure that a fever is not present
- Covid-19 screening questionnaire for staff (daily) and patients (at every visit)
- Promoting physical distancing
- Wearing of masks indoors by staff (when physical distancing is not possible) and patients
- Pre-procedural mouthrinse
- Frequent hand sanitization
- Use of medical grade high filtration masks for aerosol producing procedures
- Safety goggles
- Face shields
- Surgical gowns
- Caps and booties
- Zip up doors to self contain operatories and sterilization area
- Glass partitions at reception desk
- Elimination of cash handling
- Frequent disinfection of highly touched surfaces throughout each day
- Staggering of scheduled appointments to minimize the number of patients in reception area
- Asking patients to wait in their cars or outdoors until we are ready to call them in
- Bathrooms are on lock and key and are sanitized after each use
With all of the above measures, all members of March Dental have returned to work feeling safe and happy; furthermore our patients and families know and feel confident that we are taking care of them and ourselves.
